Our work depends on a Cloud Architect to support or EPA customer in improving environmental quality and public health outcomes vast amounts of data. They must also support EPA in making its data available to the states, tribes, territories, the regulated community, environmental advocacy groups and the public. High level capabilities include building and supporting data analysis activities within a data platform for user with high-end analytical needs, support data flows/data pipelines, Extract, Transfer and Load (ETL/ELT) and orchestration, data lake/data warehousing, geospatial analysis and services, big data query and analysis, and support for stakeholder activities using popular languages, tools, packages, and Artificial Intelligence/machine learning frameworks within on Prem or Cloud environments.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Analyzes customer requirements and provides highly innovative technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques, technologies, and related cloud architectures
- Provides expert knowledge for the research, evaluation, and deployment of advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics
- Provides expert knowledge for data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain specific ontologies
- Provides expert knowledge for the development of highly complex data technologies, algorithms, and applications
- Maintains current and advanced knowledge of progressive and advancing technology as assigned.
- Provides expert guidance and leadership to less experienced cloud development personnel
- May serve as a task or project leader (Not a people manager)
- May consult with executives and customers to deliver complex cloud development solutions
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in cloud technology
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED :
Education:
- Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
Required Technical Skills:
- Relevant Certifications: Azure, AWS, VCP, CCNA, CISSP
- Works independently under limited supervision
Recommended Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills
- Analytical skills
Location:
- DC metro area preferred but remote applicants considered
- Team members living in the DC metro need to travel to client sites at the discretion of the government lead
- The Government site is in Washington, D.C.
