Fantastic new contract opportunity for an experienced Azure Security Engineer with this large financial services business. My client is looking for an experienced hands on Azure Security Engineer to join the team for an initial 6 month contract to help deliver on a range of cloud security engineering projects.

Skills Required:

Cloud Security Expertise:

• Deep understanding of Azure security services and features (eg, Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure Key Vault, Azure DDoS Protection).
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and principles, such as the shared responsibility model, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.

Identity and Access Management (IAM):

• Proficiency in managing Azure Active Directory (AAD), including user and group management, role-based access control (RBAC), conditional access policies, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Experience with Azure AD Connect and integrating on-premises identities with Azure AD.

Network Security:

• Strong understanding of Azure networking components, including virtual networks (VNets), network security groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, and Azure Bastion.
• Knowledge of VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and network peering for secure connectivity.

Threat Detection and Incident Response:

• Experience with Azure Sentinel for security information and event management (SIEM) and security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Azure Security Center to monitor and respond to security alerts.

Data Protection:

• Understanding of encryption technologies, including encryption at rest and in transit.
• Knowledge of Azure Information Protection (AIP) and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies.

Compliance and Governance:

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and standards (eg, GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Experience with Azure Policy and Azure Blueprints to enforce organizational policies and compliance requirements.

Automation and Scripting:

• Proficiency in Scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI for automation tasks.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.

Security Assessment and Penetration Testing:

• Skills in conducting security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
• Knowledge of Azure-native tools like Azure Security Center and third-party tools for vulnerability management.
