Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Country: UK Rate: Up to £70k per annum + 18% bonus, car allowance

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an someone with an in depth knowledge and experience with network technologies, such as: Cisco Meraki, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, WLAN and Firewalls.

You will work closely with the architecture team and Senior Infrastructure Managers to delivery network and infrastructure improvement programmes with budgets of £1m.

Description

Key responsibilities include;

  • Professional Development Manage your professional development and identify opportunities (training courses, seminars, conferences etc) that will enable you to become a subject matter expert for your respective infrastructure tower.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Identify key stakeholders for technologies within your infrastructure tower and utilise them as a source of information, to challenge and support your decision/recommendation process.
  • Tower Integration actively contribute to Infrastructure Management team meetings to promote the visibility of activities across the function
  • Infrastructure Roadmaps Contribute, develop and publish a holistic infrastructure roadmap detailing prioritised initiatives for your tower to help modernise the technology landscape, to mitigate service risks and underpin investment forecasting.
  • Reporting Actively contribute to monthly reporting governance packs that are presented to technology executives.
  • Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) - Understand the TCO for the technologies within your infrastructure tower, identify opportunities to ensure that services are managed and maintained in an efficient manner.
  • Data Accuracy - ensure that technologies within your infrastructure tower are accurately reflected within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

Profile

The successful candidate will have

  • Experience with Core Network Skills:
  • Experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN/SD-WAN,
  • Experience with Network Authentication,
  • Experience with Firewall functionality,
  • Experience with Network Security, Network Capacity Management, Network Automation, Network Monitoring,
  • Experience with Network Management Tools - ie: SolarWinds
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • A desire to move away from hands on technical roles and into a hands off strategic position.

This role offers;

  • Salary of £70,000
  • £4,000 car allowance OR £3,500 as cash via payroll each month (£291.67)
