Data Governance Engineer (Contract)

Location: Brussels Country: Belgium Rate: Market Rate
 

Our prestigious client, a leader in data governance, is on a mission to:

Ensure the smooth operation of data pipelines, workflows, and systems.

Enhance data quality, integrity, and availability across their organization.

Collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to optimize data workflows.

Technical Proficiencies:

Our client is seeking a professional with expertise in:

Linux System Administration: Extensive experience in managing and maintaining Linux-based data pipelines, ensuring efficient and accurate data flow.

Scripting: Proficiency in developing and maintaining Shell Scripts to automate data processing, transformation, and loading.

Job Scheduling (Control-M): Experience in creating, scheduling, and managing jobs to ensure timely data processing and delivery. Ability to work with planning teams to execute releases with minimal disruption.

Incident Management: Skill in identifying and responding to data-related incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and documenting resolutions to improve data quality.

Data Management: Capability in managing databases, running queries, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Languages:

English: Fluency required.

Dutch or French: Proficiency is a plus.

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

At least 6 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics.

A strong background in Linux system administration, Scripting, and data management.

Experience with job scheduling, release management, and incident response.

Bonus Experience: Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

Basic knowledge of Ab Initio development and data governance principles.

Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Familiarity with Mainframe systems for data transfer and integration.
