Network Engineer - Low Latency - CCIE

Hybrid (1-2 days London offices)

Long Term contract for a highly experienced low latency network engineer to join a major Banking organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of infrastructure, including Switches, Routers and Firewalls

  • Working with products from Cisco, Arista, Firewalls

  • Assist in daily exchange operations and resolving operational issues

  • Working with the Security team to implement corporate security policies to ensure our IT environments adhere to internal and industry-standard policies and practices

  • Propose and lead projects that improve our production environments

  • Creation of technical documentation

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in administration and deploying network solutions with previous working experience in trading venues

  • In-depth exposure to configuring and managing resilient, low-latency environments

  • Experience of configuration of multi-VRF environments

  • Able to demonstrate skills with standard network protocols: RSTP, VRRP, OSPF, HSRP, BGP, BFP

  • Working knowledge of multicast architecture and protocols including PIM-SM and IGMP v2

  • Familiarity with Fortinet Firewalls

  • Ability to write clear, concise and comprehensive documentation for processes and systems

  • Experience of managing vendors

  • Experience of proposing and evaluating new hardware and software solutions
