Interim CISO
A Government organisation requires a Contract Interim CISO to evaluate its current Security posture, identify gaps in capabilities, processes, and tools, and design a robust future Security operating model and team structure. The role will ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, strengthen governance, and embed best-practice approaches to security operations, with proven experience in government frameworks.
- Day Rate: Circa £1,000pd
- IR35 Status: Inside
- Travel: 3 days a week in Central London
- Duration: Initial 6 months
This interim CISO will have the following experience:
- Operate at senior leadership level, setting and driving the Cyber and Information Security strategy; advise the Executive Board and ensure security is aligned with business objectives and agreed risk appetite.
- Establish strong security governance by defining clear standards, policies, and ways of working; implement robust cyber risk frameworks aligned with government and public-sector requirements, including the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
- Evaluate the current security posture, identify gaps across people, processes, and technology, and design a fit-for-purpose future security operating model.
- Embed a positive and accountable security culture across the organisation through awareness initiatives, targeted training, and clear ownership at all levels.
- Partner with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to assure the secure design, implementation, and operation of systems, platforms, and emerging technologies.
