Performance Info Engineer
Rate: £400-470/day inside IR35
Location: Bristol, hybrid
Reports To: Head of Data Governance
6 month contract
Purpose:
The Performance Info Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality data products and pipelines that support business intelligence, analytics, and decision-making. This includes transforming and integrating data from multiple sources, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, and enabling actionable insights for project safety, quality, time, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements and designs into technical solutions.
- Develop, test, and deploy data products using Databricks, Power BI, SQL, Python, Scala, and other technologies.
- Build, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows for batch and streaming processes.
- Document data mappings, transformations, and lineage; re-engineer manual processes for scalability and automation.
- Ensure adherence to data standards, security, GDPR, and quality requirements.
- Use agile methodologies (Azure DevOps) to manage tasks, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Support continuous improvement, monitoring, and CI/CD deployment of data products.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of data engineering, BI, and analytics.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and proactive approach to improving data pipelines.
- Knowledge of data ethics, security, and legal obligations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Experience in CI/CD, agile software engineering, SQL, Python/Scala, and R.
- Professional qualifications in software engineering or information analysis are desirable.
- Experience in nuclear, safety-critical, or regulated industries is advantageous.
