AWS Architect - Knutsford, Cheshire and remote - 6 months+

One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for an AWS Architect.

For this role you will need to be onsite in Knutsford 2-3 days per week.

Role Description:

Experience Required:
9+ years in Cloud Architecture and Distributed Systems

Core Responsibilities:
Design and implement large-scale distributed systems with a focus on resiliency, scalability, and observability.
Define cloud-native strategies and architectures for enterprise applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Create technical design specifications, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
Drive adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation across teams.
Lead and mentor teams in Agile delivery models and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

Technical Skills (Must-Have):
Cloud Platforms: AWS (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, Containers - EKS, Docker, Kubernetes).
Databases: Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, plus experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB).
Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD.
Microservices & Containers: Deep knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration and containerized solutions.
DevOps Tools: Jenkins, GitLab, and integration with various CI/CD tools.
Application Design: API-first and event-driven architectures and prior hands-on experience with Kafka eco-system.
Observability & Monitoring: Familiarity with tools for logging, metrics, and tracing specially ELK and observe tools.

Soft Skills (Must-Have):
Excellent written and verbal communication for simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
Ability to articulate technical solutions to business leaders and influence decision-making.
Proven experience working with global, distributed teams in enterprise environments.

Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of data modelling best practices and Agile methodologies.
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) for project tracking and documentation.
Ability to own and drive projects end-to-end in an Agile environment.

Good to Have:
Understanding of financial services domain, especially credit cards.
Knowledge of TOGAF principles and enterprise architecture frameworks.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate) preferred.
