Rate: £525 (Inside IR35)

Contract Length: Initial 3-6 month contract

We are seeking an SC-cleared DevOps Engineer to support the delivery of a central government digital programme, building, operating and supporting AWS-based cloud platforms within UK-hosted, multi-account environments. The role focuses on delivering infrastructure as code, enabling reliable CI/CD pipelines, and operating resilient live services, while embedding security-by-design and public sector compliance standards throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Essential Skills

  • Experience delivering and operating AWS-based solutions in UK-hosted, multi-account environments

  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, automation and CI/CD

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins

  • Containerisation experience using Docker and Amazon ECS and/or EKS

  • Experience operating and supporting live services, including monitoring, logging and alerting

  • Knowledge of AWS security controls including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail and GuardDuty

  • Experience working within public sector, regulated or assurance-driven environments

  • Strong communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Active SC Clearance and NPPV3 eligibility (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code

  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for application and platform teams

  • Support application and data migration into AWS cloud environments

  • Operate and support live services, including monitoring, logging and alerting

  • Design and maintain highly available, performant and resilient cloud platforms

  • Support release management, cutover and service transition activities

  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure, deployment and performance issues

  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary delivery teams
