Overview

We are supporting a major UK manufacturing organisation undergoing a large-scale digital transformation programme across multiple UK sites.

This programme involves the consolidation of multiple ERP platforms into SAP S/4HANA, alongside the integration of operational and manufacturing systems into the SAP core.

The client is seeking a high-calibre SAP Technical Manager/Integration Programme Manager to own and drive delivery of the full technical integration landscape, coordinating internal IT teams, plant stakeholders, and multiple third-party delivery partners.

This is a high-profile role at the heart of a complex manufacturing transformation programme, requiring exceptional delivery governance, stakeholder management, and integration leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical delivery and integration workstream across multiple UK manufacturing sites.
• Manage and maintain detailed project plans, delivery milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource scheduling.
• Provide clear programme reporting and executive-level communications on delivery progress vs plan.
• Lead multi-vendor coordination, working closely with internal IT teams and external delivery partners to ensure delivery quality and adherence to programme timelines.
• Oversee the integration of manufacturing and operational applications into SAP S/4HANA,
• Ensure all application and equipment integrations are robust, scalable, and aligned to SAP architecture standards.
• Act as the primary technical delivery interface between:
• UK plant operations
• Central IT
• External system vendors
• Drive strong governance, documentation, RAID management, and delivery assurance across the programme.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience delivering large, complex SAP and enterprise system integration programmes.
• Strong technical project/programme management background, with a track record of:
• Managing complex delivery plans
• Resource scheduling
• Multi-stream coordination
• Executive-level reporting
• Deep understanding of systems integration architecture, including:
• Middleware platforms
• API-based integration
• Manufacturing and plant system connectivity
• Strong vendor management capability, able to hold SI partners accountable for delivery.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to operate confidently across:
• Factory floor operations
• IT leadership
• Programme governance
• External vendors
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, business-critical transformation programmes.

Desirable

• SAP S/4HANA programme experience
• Experience delivering ERP consolidation programmes
• Knowledge of manufacturing automation systems and plant-level applications

SAP experience is beneficial but not essential - the critical requirement is deep expertise in technical delivery, integration leadership, and stakeholder coordination across complex manufacturing environments.
