Front End Developer - SC Cleared (3+ Month Contract)

Location: Remote, with weekly on-site visit to Croydon or Manchester hub
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

Overview

We're seeking an SC-Cleared Front End Developer to join a high-impact government project. This role is primarily remote, with occasional on-site collaboration (typically once per week) at either our Croydon or Manchester hub. You'll be working within an agile, cross-functional team to build intuitive, performant, and accessible user interfaces for critical digital services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, responsive Front End applications using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate closely with designers, Back End engineers, and product teams to deliver user-focused features.
• Implement clean, maintainable code following best practices and accessibility standards.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and architectural discussions.
• Contribute to Front End testing and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure all work aligns with security, performance, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong commercial experience with React
• Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript (browser-based development)

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Playwright or similar tools for Front End testing
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of secure development practices in government or regulated environments
