Junior Network Security Engineer (Cloud) & Security Risk Specialist

London (Bank Area, Central)

£65-75k (Dependent on experience)

This role is an interesting mix of someone who has a background understanding Network Security in an engineer capacity, while also understanding GRC and and element of cyber threats.

Who we need:

We are now looking for a Junior Network Security Engineer/Security Risk Specialist to join our Engineering and Technology Information Security team which will require the following. A minimum of 3 years experience in engineering and technology. A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a similar role would be essential and exposure to AWS beneficial, although other major cloud providers would be considered. You will need to understand GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) and some cyber threat capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to all information security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the organization's information security program is consistently enforced across Allspring and the regions in which we operate
  • Monitor cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to determine the risks they pose to the business and qualify potential impact and responses
  • Collect and analyze security metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to present meaningful and actionable information to the CISO, Engineering Technology, business leaders, and the Security and Technology Committee.
  • Monitor cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to determine the risks they pose to the business and qualify potential impact and responses
  • Provide hands-on expertise in cloud-based technologies with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
  • In coordination with HR, design information security training for employees to meet all security requirement and cybersecurity threats ? Perform risk assessments for the company and critical business components as it relates to information security threats and risks.
  • Support the adoption of advanced Front End technologies across technology and business groups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, technology teams, and business application owners.
  • Implement and enforce industry best practices in network security.
  • Develop and integrate innovative cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal technical experts and external industry groups to address complex technical challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, or a related technology field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering and technology, preferably within Financial Services or Technology sectors.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective at influencing and building consensus among stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic focus.
  • Ability to mentor and teach others effectively.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
  • Over 2 years of experience with AWS or other major cloud providers.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a highly distributed environment.
  • Consulting experience is advantageous.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer and acting as a valuable resource to the team.
  • Proven track record of being on-call for support and maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Confident interaction with colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams across various locations.
